Applebee’s doesn’t seem like an establishment with great seafood but this meal changes everything. The sweet but spicy honey pepper sauce goes great with the natural salmon taste. Try something different for dinner this week with this copycat recipe.

Ingredients

  • ¾ C. honey
  • 1/3 C. Soy sauce
  • ¼ C. brown sugar
  • ¼ C. pineapple juice
  • ¼ C. lemon juice
  • 2 T. apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tsp. olive oil
  • 1 tsp. pepper
  • 1 tsp. cayenne pepper
  • ½ tsp. paprika
  • ¼ tsp. garlic powder
  • 8 salmon fillets, no skin

Directions

Combine all ingredients but salmon in a saucepan on medium heat. Cook to a boil stirring consistently then once boiling reduce to a simmer and cook for 15 minutes. Turn on broiler and rub each fillet with olive oil and lightly sprinkle with salt and pepper. Cook salmon for 5 minutes on both sides. Pour sauce over fillets and serve hot!
