  • 2 cups warm water
  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 5 cups flour
  • 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt

In a medium bowl, dissolve the yeast in the warm water and then add the honey and stir the bowl. Add the whole-wheat flour, oil, and salt. Gradually add the 5 cups flour and then turn the dough on a floured surface and knead for 15 minutes. Oil a large bowl and put the dough in bowl, coating the dough with oil. Cover the bowl and let the dough rise for 45 minutes. Punch down the dough and shape it into two loaves. Place the two loaves into two greased loaf pans and let the dough rise. Bake for 30 minutes at 375 degrees F.
