Ingredients
- 1 C. all-purpose flour
- 3/4 C. granulated sugar
- 2 Tbs. baking cocoa
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 C. milk
- 2 Tbs. vegetable oil
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 C. chopped nuts
- 1 C. packed brown sugar
- 1/4 C. baking cocoa
- 1 3/4 C. very hot water
- ice cream, if desired
Directions
Heat oven to 350 degrees.
In ungreased 9-inch square pan, mix flour, sugar, 2 tablespoons cocoa, baking powder and salt. Mix in milk, oil and vanilla with fork until smooth. Stir in nuts. Spread in pan.
Sprinkle brown sugar and 1/4 C. cocoa over batter. Pour water evenly over batter.
Bake about 40 minutes or until top is dry. Cool 10 minutes.
Spoon warm cake into dessert dishes. Top with ice cream. Spoon sauce from pan onto each serving.
