Hot Garlic Cheese Bread

Jazz up your regular garlic bread with some shredded cheese and hear a chorus of "oohs" and "ahhhs" all around the table.

  • 1 8 oz. pkg. Polly-O Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
  • 1/2 C. (1 stick) butter or margarine, softened
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 Tbs. chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/4 tsp. black pepper
  • 1 lb. Italian bread loaf

Mix all ingredients except bread. Slice bread loaf at 3/4-in. intervals almost to bottom of loaf, being careful to not cut all the way through loaf. Spread 1 side of each bread slice with cheese mixture. Wrap in foil. Bake at 425 degrees for 25 minutes. Serve hot.

Variation: Substitute 1/2 tsp. garlic powder and 1 tsp. dried oregano leaves for garlic cloves and fresh parsley.
