  • 4 cups flour
  • 1 Tbsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/3 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 1 cup dried apricots (Cranberries could be used instead)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine the dry ingredients in a large bowl. Add in the buttermilk and dried fruit. Knead dough a few times on a lightly floured surface. Divide in half and shape into round loafs. Slit a cross into tops of loafs. Bake on greased baking sheet for 45 to 55 minutes or until loafs come out of oven golden brown.
