Israeli Tzimmes
Ingredients
- 1 lb. carrots, thickly sliced
- 3 lg. sweet potatoes - peeled and quartered
- 1 C. cold water
- 1/2 lb. pitted prunes
- 1/3 C. honey
- salt, to taste.
Directions
Place ingredients in a saucepan and cover tightly; steam over low heat 15 minutes. Add 1/3 cup honey and salt to taste, then simmer over very low heat for 1 hour.
