  • 1 pound ziti
  • 2 cans pizza sauce
  • 2 cans sliced mushrooms
  • 1½ cups of grated mozzarella cheese
  • 3 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1½ cups of chopped red bell pepper
  • 1½ cups chopped onion
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Cook the ziti (pasta) as per the directions given in the packaging or al dente. Take a large saucepan and heat the olive oil over a medium flame. Once the oil is hot, add in the onions and chopped bell pepper until they soften. Now dump in the drained mushroom slices, garlic and red pepper flakes. Stir fry for a while before adding the pizza sauce. Now add the ziti to the sauce. In a separate bowl, mix the Mozzarella and Parmesan cheese together and add half of it to the bottom of the baking tray. Pour in the ziti mixture on top of the bed of mixed cheese and then add the remaining half of the cheese mixture on top. Bake for thirty minutes and serve hot.
