  • 4 lg. green bell peppers
  • 2 Tbs. olive oil
  • 2 Tbs. butter or margarine
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1 tsp. oregano leaves
  • salt, to taste

Remove stems, seed and pith from pepper. Cut lengthwise into strips about 1 1/2 inches wise. Heat olive oil and butter in a large frying pan. Add peppers and garlic. Cook over medium heat until slightly browned, stirring occasionally. Sprinkle with pepper and oregano. Cover and cook over low heat for 15 minutes or just until limp and tender. Salt to taste. Serve hot or warm.
