  • 8 ounces Italian sausage
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • ½ cup shell pasta
  • 2 cups baby spinach leaves
  • 2 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 can diced tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons chopped garlic
  • 1 tablespoon chopped basil

Remove the casings from sausage and cook it in a large pan over medium heat. Cook for 5 minutes and stir to crumble the meat. Drain the fat and return the meat to the saucepan. Add the tomatoes, pasta, and broth. Bring the pan to a boil using high heat. Cover the pan, lower the heat, and simmer for 10 minutes. Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the spinach. Sprinkle with basil and cheese and then serve.
