Japanese Pork Sate

Pork is marinated in a sweet peanut butter and soy-sauce mixture and grilled on skewers.

  • 1 lb. boneless pork loin
  • 2 Tbs. peanut butter
  • 1/2 C. minced onion
  • 1 clove garlic -- minced
  • 2 Tbs. lemon juice
  • 2 Tbs. soy sauce
  • 1 Tbs. brown sugar
  • 1 Tbs. vegetable oil
  • Dash hot pepper sauce

Cut pork into 1/2-inch cubes. Blend remaining ingredients together (a blender does this well). Marinate pork in mixture for 10 minutes. Thread pork on skewers (if using bamboo skewers, soak in water for 30 minutes to prevent burning). Grill or broil for 6-8 minutes, turning occasionally, until done.

  • You have got to be joking to suggest using a blender for that tiny amount of marinade.... try a whisk..... lol. I use double that amount of marinade for a pound of meat, whether pork or chicken. And I very frequently use lemon and lime juice for marinades, but for this one, apple cider vinegar is better (to me) and cheaper.
