Jeannie's Strawberry Pie
Ingredients
- 1 pint to 1 quart fresh strawberries
- Crust:
- 3 1/2 Tbs. powdered sugar
- 1 C. flour
- 1/2 C. margarine, melted (1 stick)
- Glaze:
- 1 C. sugar
- 3 Tbs. strawberry Jell-O
- 2 Tbs. cornstarch
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 C. boiling water
Directions
Blend flour and powdered sugar. Melt margarine and add to mixture. Mix well and press into pie pan. Bake crust at 350 to 375 degrees until slightly brown (about 12 minutes). Let cool.
Have berries hulled and wshed. Dry completely.
Mix glaze ingredients in saucepan. Pour in boiling water. Bring to second boil and simmer for 3 minutes. Cool completely. Pile berries into baked shell, whole if small or halved if large. Pour cooled glaze over top. Chill for several hours. Serve.
