  • 2 1/2 C. all-purpose flour
  • 1 T. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 C. unsalted butter, melted and cooled
  • 1 C. granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 C. buttermilk
  • 1 T. vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 C. chocolate chips

Preheat your oven to 425°F and grease the inside of 12 muffin cups. In a large bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and chocolate chips. In another bowl, blend together melted butter, sugar, eggs, milk, and vanilla. Gradually and slowly combine wet and dry ingredients, gently folding until just combined. Spoon the batter into your prepared muffin cups. Bake for five minutes. Reduce oven to 375°F and bake for another 15 minutes. Serve warm.
