This brownie recipe combines not only cocoa, but Kahlua and coffee flavor to create a rich dessert experience. These brownies are easily prepared and go over well at adult celebrations and events!

  • 1/2 C butter

  • 2 oz dark chocolate, finely chopped

  • 1 C sugar

  • 2 Tbs cocoa powder
1 tsp instant coffee powder

  • 2 large eggs

  • 1/4 tsp salt
1/4 C Kahlua
3/4 C all purpose flour

Preheat oven to 350º.

Line ceramic cooking dish with parchment paper.

Melt together butter and dark chocolate for 30 second intervals in the microwave, stirring occasionally. Allow mixture to cool, then pour into mixing bowl and whisk together with sugar, cocoa and instant coffee.

Whisk in eggs one at a time, then add salt and Kahlua. Whisk in all purpose flour, stirring until no flour streaks remain.

Pour batter into dish and bake for 14-16 minutes, or until browny mix is set on the top.

Cool, then serve.
