If you love barbecue, you'll love this recipe for barbecue crockpot ribs! The spice rub is inspired by the flavors of Kansas City and is also good on chicken and pork.

  • 1/2 C. brown sugar
  • 1/4 C. paprika
  • 1 Tbs. pepper
  • 1 Tbs. salt
  • 1 Tbs. chili powder
  • 1 Tbs. garlic powder
  • 1 Tbs. onion powder
  • 1 tsp. cayenne
  • 1-2 C. barbecue sauce
  • 3 lb. baby back ribs, trimmed

Put 1/4 to 1/2 C. water in the bottom of your crockpot. Combine the spices together and store in an airtight container. Rub the spice mixture generously on each side of the ribs. Put them in the crockpot with the meaty side facing the wall. Cover and cook on low for 6 hours. Remove the ribs from the crockpot and brush them with barbecue sauce. Put the ribs on a baking sheet and under the broiler for several minutes. Reapply another coat of barbecue sauce before serving, if desired.
