Ingredients
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1/2 C. cooked rice
- 1 C. breadcrumbs
- 1 egg, beaten
- salt
- pepper
- 1/4 C. oil
- Barbecue Sauce:
- 1 Tbs. sugar
- 1 Tbs. vinegar
- pinch cayenne pepper
- 1 1/4 C. tomato sauce
Directions
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Mix the beef, onion, rice, breadcrumbs, egg and seasoning together. Divide meat mizture into four portions and mold onto short skewers in long, oval shapes. Heat the oil in a skillet and brown the kebabs for 15 minutes covered with a lid. Meanwhile, add the sugar, vinegar and cayenne pepper to the tomato sauce and boil for 5 minutes. Arrange the kebabs in a shallow dish, pour on the sauce and heat through in the oven for 10 minutes.
Serve with: Rice and Lentil Pilaf
