  • 5 lb. spare ribs
  • 1 C. brown sugar
  • 1 C. soy sauce
  • 1/2 C. water
  • 1/4 C. rice wine
  • 1 small onion, grated
  • 1 small pear, peeled and grated
  • 4 T. garlic, minced
  • 2 T. dark sesame oil
  • 1/4 tsp. black pepper

Coat your ribs in brown sugar. In a bowl, whisk together all remaining ingredients . Place ribs into large freezer bags and cover with marinade. Gently shake to coat. Refrigerate for four hours. Preheat your grill to a medium heat setting. Remove ribs from bags, draining excess marinade. Transfer to your grill and cook for about 10 minutes on each side. Serve immediately
