Layered Chocolate Banana Pudding
Ingredients
- 1 pkg. (3 5/8 oz.) chocolate flavored pudding and pie filling mix
- 2 C. milk or 1 ½ C. milk and ½ C. cream
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 8 graham crackers (each 2 ½ inches square)
- 2 medium bananas, sliced
- ½ C. heavy cream and 1 Tbs. sugar, whipped stiff
- 3 Tbs. toasted sliced almonds or other chopped nuts
Directions
In a small saucepan cook pudding mix with the 2 C. milk according to package directions. Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla and cool about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Place half the crackers in four 8 or 10 oz. dessert dishes or stackable containers. Spoon about half the pudding over to cover. Add a layer of half the bananas, then remaining crackers and bananas. Top with remaining pudding; cool. Spread tops with sweetened whipped cream; sprinkle with nuts. Cover and chill several hours or overnight.
