Ingredients

  • 1 (18.25 oz.) package milk chocolate cake mix
  • 2 Tbs. butter
  • 1 C. sugar
  • 3/4 C. evaporated milk
  • 3 Tbs. cocoa powder
  • 4 C. confectioners' sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 20 or more small chocolate cookies of your choice

Directions

Follow cake mix directions and bake three thin layers in 7-inch, 8-inch and 9-inch pans. Let layers cool. In saucepan, heat sugar, butter and 1/2 C. milk. Cook for 10 minutes. Let it stand for a few minutes. Spread layers with fillings and stack together. For frosting, combine remaining milk, cocoa, confectioners' sugar and vanilla. Mix until smooth and spread frosting all over cake. Place chocolate cookies on frosted cake.
