This is such a delicious and simple recipe to follow for the best layered taco dip. This calls for refried beans, sour cream, lettuce, tomatoes, green onions and cheddar cheese.

Ingredients

  • 1 can refried beans
  • 8 oz. sour cream
  • 1 pkg. taco seasoning
  • 3 Tbs. mayonnaises
  • Lettuce
  • 2 tomatoes
  • 1 bunch green onions
  • Shredded cheddar cheese

Directions

Chop lettuce, tomato and green onion. Spread refried beans on a dinner plate to cover the plate. In a small bowl, mix the sour cream, mayonnaise and taco seasoning together. Spread on top of bean layer. Spread cut up lettuce over top of the mixture.  Sprinkle cut up tomatoes, green onions and cheddar cheese over top. Chill for an hour or so in the refrigerator. Serve with chips and salsa.

  • I make this all the time. I'd like to add a few more layers to the Layered Taco Dip: a layer of make it yourself salsa, a layer of chopped black, pitted olives, a layer of either ground beef cooked with a package of taco seasoning until thick, and top the whole thing with chopped cilantro, stems and all. If you use chicken instead of the ground beef then make it easy and cook and shred the chicken first and then cook with the taco seasoning that says "use with chicken" Oh yes...there is a difference!!!
