Linda's Spaghetti Sauce and Meatballs

I've been cooking this spaghetti almost all my life. I changed a few things from my mother's recipe, but it only improved it. You don't have to hover over the stove- just stir once in awhile.

Serving Size / Yield

1 to 4-6 serving

Ingredients

  • SAUCE
  • 2 lg. cans Hunt's tomato sauce
  • 1 can stewed tomatoes
  • 1 or 2 bay leaves
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 can Contadina tomato paste, seasoned
  • small amount of garlic chips
  • dash of oregano
  • 1/2 tsp. Italian seasoning
  • 1 chopped onion
  • MEATBALLS
  • 2 lbs. of hamburger and/or Italian sausage
  • Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • cracker crumbs
  • salt and pepper, to taste

Directions

Mix all of the ingredients for the sauce in a big bowl. Slowly drop them into sauce. Mix ingredients for the meatballs. Shape into the size of meatballs you would like. When the sauce is warming, slowly place meatballs into the sauce. Cook on stove for 4 to 5 hours. For a crockpot, cook on slow for 7 to 8 hrs or fast for 4 to 5 hours.
