  • 1 stick salted butter, softened
  • 3/4 C. white sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. brown sugar, packed
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp. almond extract
  • 1 C. + 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 C. chocolate chips
  • 19 oz. brownie mix

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. In a small bowl, cream the butter and sugars. Add the vanilla, almond, and egg. Stir the ingredients until the texture is smooth. Add the flour, baking soda, and salt. Cautiously stir the ingredients. Stir in the chocolate chips. Set aside and refrigerate. Prepare the brownie mix as directed on the box. Pour the batter into a lightly greased baking dish. Then take the refrigerated chocolate chip mixture and gently spread it over the brownie mixture. Cautiously press it down into the batter. Bake covered for 35 to 40 minutes. Let it cool for 15 minutes before serving.
