Madge's Soup (Italian Sausage and Pasta)

Ingredients
- 1 lb. Italian sausage links
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 13 3/4-oz. can beef broth
- 1 28-oz. can whole, peeled tomatoes
- 1 C. water
- 3 oz. rotini pasta
- black beans (optional)
- 1/4 lb. salami, in thin strips (optional)
Directions
Remove casings from sausage. Saute sausage until it becomes gray. Drain off grease. Stir in beef broth. Cut up tomatoes and add to soup with the juice from the can and add water. Cover and simmer 15 minutes. Add 3 oz. rotini or any favorite pasta. Cook until pasta is done. If using salami or black beans, add when adding tomatoes.
