  • 1 can black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1/2 red bell pepper, rough chopped
  • 1 red onion, cut into wedges
  • 3 cloves garlic, peeled
  • 1 egg
  • 1 T. chili powder
  • 1/2 T. cumin
  • 2 tsp. hot sauce
  • 1/3 C. bread crumbs
  • 2 ½ C. Sweet and Smoky BBQ sauce
  • 4 toasted sesame seed buns.
  • Recommended Toppings:
  • Baby Spinach
  • Red Onion
  • Radish
  • Alfalfa sprouts

Mash the black beans in a large mixing bowl. Pulse the peppers, garlic and onions in a food processor until smooth. Add the vegetable mixture, eggs, species, and breadcrumbs to the beans. Form the mixture into 4 – 5 patties. Place the burgers in your crockpot, top with the BBQ sauce, and cook on low for 3 hours.
Serve on a toasted bun with our recommended toppings, or try your own favorites.
