  • 2 sticks butter, melted
  • 2 ½ C. + 1/3 C. sugar
  • 1 T. + 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 ½ C. all-purpose flour
  • 1 C. unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • 1 (8 oz.) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 can cherry pie filling

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl, whisk together butter, 2 ½ cups of sugar, 1 tablespoon of vanilla, and 4 eggs until smooth. Stir in flour, cocoa, and salt. Pour half of the batter into a greased baking pan. In a separate bowl, beat together cream cheese, egg, and remaining vanilla and sugar with an electric mixer. Pour this mixture over brownie batter, spoon cherry pie filling wherever you want to achieve a marbled look, and spoon the rest of the brownie batter on top. Bake for 35-40 minutes.
