  • 3 Lbs. Russet potatoes
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 1/4 c. butter
  • 1/2 c. sour cream
  • salt and pepper to taste

Peel potatoes and cut into four large pieces per potato. Place potatoes in a large pot with water and add 2 teaspoons of salt, ½ cup of butter and bring to a boil. Let boil for 25 minutes.
Drain potatoes and add milk, sour cream and the remainder of butter. Mash the potatoes and season with salt and pepper as desired. Let cool and serve.
