Meat Loaf Submarine Sandwich

Serve up some comfort food for lunch with this entrée-style sandwich.

Ingredients

  • 1 C. bread crumbs
  • 1 package spaghetti sauce mix
  • 8 oz. tomato sauce
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
  • 1 tsp. seasoned salt
  • 1 loaf French bread, sliced lengthwise
  • softened butter
  • 6 medium dill pickles, sliced in thirds

Directions

Combine bread crumbs, spaghetti sauce mix and 3/4 c. tomato sauce; add eggs, beef and seasoned slat. Stir with fork and shape into oval. Place in shallow baking dish and brush with remaining tomato sauce. Bake at 350° for about 1 hour. Allow to cool for 10 min.; cut into 1/2" slices. Spread cut sides of bread with butter. Arrange pickles on bottom slice of bread; place meat loaf slices over pickles. Cover with top slice of bread and cut loaf into 8 servings.
