Meatballs with Cranberry Glaze

These meatballs make a great appetizer or main meal if you serve over egg noodles or spaghetti.  Especially great if you have people who have many different schedules, keeps their food warm until they get home.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. lean ground beef
  • 1/4 C. onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 tsp. thyme
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/2 C breadcrumbs
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 oz. can jellied cranberry sauce
  • 2 Tbs. Brown sugar
  • 1 Tbs. apple cider vinegar
  • 2/3 C chili sauce or steak sauce

Directions

Combine ground beef, onion, thyme, egg, breadcrumbs, salt, and pepper and mix well. Roll into 1-inch balls and place on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until browned. Place meatballs in a crockpot and mix together cranberry sauce, brown sugar, vinegar and chili or steak sauce.

Mix sauce well and pour into crockpot over meatballs. Stir to coat meatballs. Allow simmering for an hour or so before serving. You can also buy already prepared meatballs if you want to save some time.
