  • 3 C. creamy mashed potatoes
  • 2 Tbsp. canola oil
  • 1 C. chopped onion
  • 2 carrots, diced
  • 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. black pepper
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 2 tsp. tomato paste
  • 1 C. chicken broth
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 C. frozen peas

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Prepare the meat by heating the oil in a skillet. Add the onion and carrots and cool about 5 minutes. Add the beef, salt, and pepper and cook until no longer pink. Sprinkle the meat with flour and toss to coat. Pour in the tomato paste, broth, and Worcestershire and stir to combine. Bring to a boil, then simmer for 10 minutes until thickened. Add the peas to the mixture and spread into a baking dish. Top with mashed potatoes and bake for 25 minutes until potatoes are slightly brown. Cool 15 minutes before serving.
