  • Fried Dough:
  • 1 ¾ C. water
  • 1 T. sugar
  • 2 tsp. olive oil
  • 2 ¼ tsp. dry yeast
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 6 C. flour
  • Topping:
  • Powdered sugar

In a bowl, sprinkle the dry yeast into the water. Add in the sugar and olive oil. Let it become foamy. In a stand mixer, pour in the flour. Slowly add in the mixture. Mix slowly. Transfer the dough onto a floured counter top. Roll into a large ball. Place into a greased bowl. Cover it with plastic wrap. Let it sit for 2 hours. Remove from bowl and knead it. Place it into the bowl again, but this time put it in the fridge for another 2 hours. Prepare a frying pan with hot olive oil. Drop small balls of dough into the hot olive oil. Place them onto a paper towel lined plate. Powder them with powdered sugar. Serve and enjoy.
