If you like cheese pie and you like apples this recipe is for you. What makes this pie so unusual is the sweet crust. Be sure to make this pie in a pan NOT a glass pie dish. You'll love it.

Ingredients

  • Crust:
  • 1 C. flour
  • 1/2 C. butter, softened
  • 1/3 C. sugar
  • 1/4 Tbs. vanilla
  • Pie Filling:
  • 8 oz. cream cheese, softened
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 C. sugar
  • 1/2 Tbs. vanilla
  • Topping:
  • 3 apples
  • 1/3 C. sugar
  • Walnuts pieces (optional)
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon

Directions

Mix all pie crust ingredients together and spread over the bottom and up the sides of a 9 inch pie tin.Mix all the pie filling ingredients together until blended using a hand mixer. Pour into crust. Slice up apples into 1/2-inch slices and mix with sugar and cinnamon. Neatly arrange over the top of cheese mixture. Sprinkly walnut pieces over the top. This is optional and you can use however many you want.

Bake at 375 degrees for one hour or until done. The cheese should be firm when you shake it.
