These traditional Mexican cookies are mostly served in weddings, but it doesn't mean that you can't make them for your household. Everyone in your family won't get enough on how sweet these powdered cookies are.

  • 2 C. pecans
  • 1 C. butter, unsalted
  • 1 1/2 C. confectioners sugar
  • Zest of 2 oranges
  • 2 C. all-purpose flour

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F. Lay pecans on baking sheet and place in oven for 5 to 10 minutes. Cool for at least 15 minutes and then chop. Place in bowl. Use a mixer to cream butter 1/3 C. sugar until smooth. Add orange zest and beat 1 more minute. Stir in flour until mixed well. Fold in pecans. Roll dough into tablespoon-sized balls on greased baking sheets. Shape cookies to a semicircle. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes or until bottoms are slightly browned. Let cookies cool and then place in freeze for 20 minutes. Remove cookies from freezer and roll in the remaining sugar.
