These are the cookies that my grandmother made for me when I was little. I loved them with a glass of cold milk. She left us long ago, but her love is still in her cookies. In Loving Memory, Mimaw Madie Duncan.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 C. sugar
  • 1 lb. butter
  • 4 C. flour
  • 1 1/2 C. finely chopped pecans
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • Powdered sugar

Directions

Cream butter and sugar, add vanilla and stir well. Add flour a little at a time and stir until combined. Add pecans and stir. Roll into crescent moons or little balls. Place onto a cookie sheet and bake at 325 degrees for 20-30 minutes. Place powered sugar in a bowl, while cookie is warm toss into sugar to coat. Place on rack to cool.
