Ingredients
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 3-4 large potatoes
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- Milk
- Butter
- Salt and pepper
Directions
Peel potatoes, cut in quarters, cover with water, add salt and boil until tender. Meanwhile, put meat into saucepan, add onion and enough water to cover. Add salt and pepper to taste and bring to a boil. Lower heat and cook just until meat looses its pink color. When potatoes are done, drain and mash like you normally would with a small amount of milk and butter. Put meat and most of juice into deep casserole dish. Spread hot mashed potatoes on top, spreading to edge of pan. Put into 350 degrees F oven until top is browned. Serve with a tossed salad or kosher dill pickles.
