Mock Mincemeat Pie
Ingredients
- 2 C. chopped tart apples
- 1 C. raisins
- 1 C. brown sugar
- 1/8 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/8 tsp. nutmeg
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 1 C. thick dairy sour cream
- Pastry for double crust pie
Directions
Mix apples, raisins, sugar, spices, salt and sour cream together. Line pie pan with pastry. Dust with flour. Fill and cover with top crust. Bake in hot oven (450 F) for 10 minutes. Reduce to 350 degrees F. and bake for 45 minutes. Serve hot! Optional Variation: Sprinkle grated cheese over top and return to oven to melt cheese just before serving.
