Mom's Rich and Delicious Noodle Kugel

Health fanatics beware! This recipe is not for those on a diet... or with a heart condition. Lots of cheese and dairy make this kugel fantastically delicious! It's the perfect accompaniment for any lox and bagels meal.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. medium-sized egg noodles, cooked and drained
  • 1/8 lb. melted butter
  • 1/2 C. sugar
  • 1 C. sour cream
  • 2 C. milk
  • 1 lb. cottage cheese
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 lb. farmer's cheese
  • 1/2 lb. cream cheese
  • 6 beaten eggs
  • Topping:
  • 1/2 C. brown sugar
  • 1/2 C. slivered almonds
  • 2 Tbs. melted butter

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.


Make sure all ingredients - especially the cream cheese and farmer's cheese - are at room temperature. Mix all ingredients together and stir in noodles. Pour into a 9x13-inch buttered casserole dish.


Combine topping and spread on noodles. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 1/4 hours.
