This recipe takes traditional meatballs to another level by stuffing them full of mozzarella cheese! Your whole family will ask for these again and again!

  • 2 lb. lean ground beef
  • 1 C. Italian seasoned breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 C. Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1/2 C. Pecorino Romano cheese, grated
  • 1/2 Tbs. garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. onion powder
  • 1 tsp. sea salt
  • 1 Tbs. Italian seasoning
  • 1 Tbs. fresh rosemary, chopped finely
  • 1/2 C. 2% milk
  • 1/4 C. tomato sauce
  • 2 large eggs, lightly beaten
  • 8 oz. block mozzarella cheese, cut into 32 1/2-in. squares

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper and set aside. Place all the ingredients, except the mozzarella cheese, in a bowl. Using your hands, mix the ingredients until just mixed. With 4 Tbs. scoop, scoop out the meat an place them on a baking sheet or plate. Once all the the meat is scooped, use damp hands to form the balls. One at a time, press a mozzarella cube into the meatball's center and reform the ball.

Place the meatballs not touching each other on baking sheets and bake for 35 minutes. Rotate the trays half way through the cooking time. Remove from the oven and place meatballs into the sauce and simmer for 30 minutes.
