Mushroom Turkey Burgers

I love these burgers. I had leftovers in the refrigerator and needed to use them up before they were outdated. I used olive oil so the burgers were not dry and cooked them slowly to keep the flavor in them. The mushrooms also added moisture. Enjoy this healthy recipe!

Time needed

30 min preparation + 30 min cooking

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 2 Tbs. olive oil
  • 2 whole portabella mushrooms
  • 1/2 red onion or 2 shallots
  • salt and pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. Old Bay seasoning
  • 1/2 C. grated muenster cheese

Directions

Heat skillet with olive oil. Cut  and dice onions, cook in skillet. Cut mushrooms and add to onions.  Cook until soft Let cool. In a large bowl, put turkey burger, Old Bay seasoning, salt and pepper, olive oil and cheese.  Add mushrooms and onions, mix well. Cook in skillet over medium heat, turning once.


Yield: 6 burgers
