New Twist Green Bean Casserole

Ingredients
- 1/2 tsp. onion
- 6 Tbs. butter, divided
- 2 Tbs. flour
- 1 Tbs. sugar,
- 1/2 tsp. salt,
- 1 dash pepper
- 1/2 C. milk
- 1/2 C. sour cream
- 2 cans French cut green beans, drained
- Swiss cheese
- 1/2 - 1 C. Panko bread crumbs or cornflake crumbs
Directions
Sauté onions and 2 Tbs. butter in pan until onion is translucent. Stir in flour, sugar, salt and pepper. Cook for 30 seconds or until flour is absorbed.
Slowly add milk and sour cream. Simmer on low heat until it gets thick. Stir mixture into green beans.
In a 1-qt. casserole dish (doing 4 layers) layer beans with Swiss cheese and end up with beans on top. Top with Panko bread crumbs sautéed in 3-4 Tbs. butter until golden brown OR 1/2 C. - 1 C. corn flake crumbs with 3-4 Tbs. butter. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour or 400 degrees for 20-30 minutes.
