New York-Style Pizza
Serving Size / Yield
- 4 1/2 C flour, plus more for dusting
- 1 1/2 Tbs. sugar
- 3 tsp. salt
- 2 tsp. instant yeast
- 3 Tbs. olive oil
- 15 oz. water
- 1 jar pizza sauce
- 4 C grated mozzarella cheese
- Additional toppings (mushrooms, onions, tomatoes featured)
Combine flour, sugar, salt and yeast in a food processor. Pulse until incorporated. Add olive oil and water. Pulse again until mixture forms ball that rides around the bowl above the blade, about 15 seconds. Continue processing for an additional 15 seconds.
Transfer dough ball to lightly floured surface and knead until smooth ball is formed. Place in deep bowl and cover, allowing to rise.
Preheat oven to 500 degrees.
Gently stretch dough by draping over knuckles into a 12- to 14-inch circle about 1/4-inch thick.
Spread sauce, cheese and additional ingredients over dough.
Bake pizza until cheese is melted and crust is golden brown, about 12 to 15 minutes.
Let it cool before serving.
