Here’s a crustless twist on an American classic. This isn’t your mother’s apple pie, but it’s just as scrumptious. Especially when it’s a la mode!

  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 Honeycrisp apples
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • Topping: Vanilla ice cream

Peel and core your honeycrisps, then cut them into healthy-sized cubes. The size is really up to you, but if the pieces are too small they may not caramelize correctly.

Heat 1 tbsp of butter in a skillet on medium heat. Be sure the butter melts and coats the entirety of the skillet before you add your cubed apples.

Let them simmer in the butter for about 5 minutes then add your cinnamon, brown sugar and lemon juice.

Let the apple caramelized over medium heat for about 5 minutes or until the apple cubes are soft.

Mix apples thoroughly in your skillet so that they are evenly coated in cinnamon-sugar goodness. Serve smothered with vanilla ice cream for maximum deliciousness.
