This is a very different and easy seafood main dish!  When paired with a salad and decorated with fresh dill, this is very impressive! Use extra large cooked shrimp and perhaps a few crab legs.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. lasagna noodles, cooked and drained
  • 2 13-oz. cans crab meat
  • 2 cans cream of shrimp soup
  • 1 Tabs. olive oil
  • 1 8-oz. pkg. cream cheese
  • 16 oz. carton cream style cream cheese
  • 1 lg. white onion
  • 1 lg. egg
  • 1/2 tsp. white pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. dill
  • 1/2 tsp. celery or garlic salt
  • 3/4 C. Swiss or Monterey Jack cheese, shredded
  • 3 fresh home grown tomatoes, sliced
  • 9x13-inch greased clear baking dish

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Saute chopped onion in olive oil. Combine crab and soup. Blend cottage cheese and cream cheese with sauteed onion, egg, crab mixture, salt and pepper, herbs and seasonings. Place some noodles in bottom of dish to line it. Add half of the shredded cheese. Top with the crab sauce and the rest of the noodles and then the rest of the cheese. Bake at 350 degrees for approximately 20 minutes. Place sliced tomatoes on top and bake for 10 minutes longer.
