This is a cranberry relish that has been in my family and has been made for over 50 years. My grandmother made it for many years before I started making it. I keep it on hand most of the winter months, not just at the holiday season.

  • 1 pkg. fresh cranberries
  • 4 apples, unpeeled
  • 2 oranges, peeled
  • 1 1/2-2 C. sugar
  • 2-4 drops red food coloring

Ground cranberries, apples and oranges this and mix in a large bowl. Add sugar and food coloring and mix really well. Chill for several days before serving so flavors mix well. Keeps covered in refrigerator for a long time. Also you can add nuts when ready to serve but they get soft so it does not keep well if you add nuts. I take part of it and add nuts and leave part plain as so many of my family have nut allergies.
