Old Fashioned Pork and Beans
Ingredients
- 3 16 oz.-cans pork and beans
- 1 C. brown sugar
- 3/4 C. ketchup
- 5 slices uncooked bacon, chopped
- 1 onion, chopped
Directions
Drain and discard all juice off pork and beans (discard pork fat also). Combine beans and remaining ingredients in a large saucepan and bring to a boil, stirring frequently. Simmer for several minutes until the sugar begins to caramelize and the ingredients are well mixed. Pour beans into a casserole dish and bake at 400 degrees one hour or until edges start to brown.
