  • 2 lb. chuck steak, chopped
  • 2 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 1 lb. onions, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 Tbsp. ground turmeric
  • 1 Tbsp. grated ginger
  • 2 medium tomatoes, chopped
  • 3 oz. shredded coconut
  • 1 container plain yogurt
  • salt and pepper, to taste

Heat the oil in a casserole dish over high heat and brown the meat in batches until cooked through. Remove the beef to a plate and cook the onions about 10 minutes. Add the garlic and cook another 2 minutes. Return the meat to a pan and stir in the turmeric, ginger, and tomatoes. Add in the coconut and yogurt and simmer for at least 2 hours. Season with salt and pepper and serve with rice.
