The classic grilled cheese has been given an Italian twist. We've made this an open-faced sandwich so that you can savor the sight of gooey melted mozzarella topped with tomatoes and onions.

  • 4 slices Multigrain Bread
  • 2 C. Shredded Mozzarella, divided
  • 1 Medium Tomato, thickly sliced
  • 1 Small Onion, peeled and sliced
  • Sea Salt, to taste
  • Ground Black Pepper, to taste
  • 2 Green Onion Stalks, green parts only, sliced

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place the slices of bread on a large baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Top each slice of bread with, in order, 1/2 cup of cheese, at least one slice of tomato, and at least 2-3 rings of the onion. Season with salt and pepper as needed. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until cheese is fully melted. Sprinkle sandwiches with green onion before serving.
