Oreo Truffle Candies
- 1 pkg. Oreo cookies
- 1 8-oz. pkg. cream cheese, at room temperature
- 1 6-oz. pkg. chocolate chips
- 1 Tbs. shortening
Crumble cookies in food processor (5 at a time). In medium bowl, mix cookie crumbs and cream cheese. Roll into small balls and place on wax paper-lined cookie sheet (or in paper candy cups) and put in freezer while melting chocolate chips. Melt chocolate chips and shortening in a double boiler over simmering (not boiling) water. Place a toothpick in Oreo ball and dip in melted chocolate. Store in refrigerator.
