Oriental Broccoli Slaw

If you are thinking about making a Oriental dish tonight for dinner then make this delicious and easy side broccoli salad.

  • 1 lb. bag of Broccoli Slaw mix (found in the produce section)
  • 1 C. toasted slivered almonds
  • 1 C. sunflower seeds, unsalted & roasted
  • 2 pkg. Top Ramen Oriental flavor noodle soup
  • 1 scallion chopped
  • 1/4 to 1/2 C. oil
  • 1/3 C. cider vinegar
  • 1/3 C. sugar

Break up the Ramen noodles in a large sealable bag. Toast the almonds in a small frying pan or in a toaster oven until slightly brown. Combine the broccoli mix, almonds, sunflower seeds, Ramen (noodles only), and scallion in a large bowl. Mix the soup seasoning pkg. with the oil, vinegar, and sugar and blend well. Toss dressing with the salad shortly before presenting.

Makes about 8 servings.

  • Ramen should not be included for authenticity. Use egg noodles, rice vermicelli or Shanghai noodles instead. If available, use Chekiang vinegar, not cider vinegar.
