Our Custard Pie
Ingredients
- 1 9-inch pie crust
- 1 egg, beaten
- 6 eggs
- 1/4 C. sugar
- 2 C. milk OR 1-3/4 C. milk + 1/4 C. half-and-half
- 1 tsp. cornstarch
- Nutmeg, sprinkled on top OR 1+ tsp vanilla
Directions
Put pie crust in pie plate and brush with beaten egg. Whisk together 6 eggs, sugar, milk (or milk and half-and-half) and cornstarch. Pour into pie shell. Sprinkle with nutmeg. If you do not wish to use nutmeg, you may add 1 tsp. vanilla to liquid mix. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes or until set.
