Our Favorite Beef Stew

Nothing satisfies on a cold day like a big bowl of our favorite beef stew. This is comfort food at its best, with plenty of protein and carbohydrates to keep you warm and full of energy. You can make your own beef stew fairly easily. It does not take a great chef to turn out amazing stews like this one.

Heat a medium sized pot over medium high heat. Add the oil and the beef and onions. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the meat is browned.

Pour in the beer and broth and use the spoon to scrape the bits of browned meat from the bottom of the pot. Add the carrots, green beans and potatoes to the stew, as well as the oregano and garlic.

Simmer the stew for 40 minutes or until the vegetables are cooked through and the broth begins to thicken. Serve hot with fresh bread for dunking in the broth.
