Oven-Fried Chicken

This chicken dish is baked in the oven but tastes like fried chicken! It's so easy to prepare.  

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 lbs. chicken with skin
  • 1/2 C. flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. paprika
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1/4 C. butter or margarine
  • 1/4 C. shortening

Directions

Heat butter and shortening in a 9x13-inch pan, in a 425-degree oven until melted. Mix the flour, salt, paprika and pepper in a bag or bowl.

Coat chicken in flour mixture. Place coated chicken, skin side down in pan. Cook uncovered 30 minutes, turn chicken and cook about 30 minutes more.
